400 organ building companies with about 2,800 employees, 180 apprentices as well as 3,500 full-time and tens of thousands honorary organists shape the craft and art of organ building and organ music in Germany. Approximately 50,000 organs are currently in use in Germany. In December 2017, the Intergovernmental Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage decided on this second German nomination.
This project was part of a first semester photography course. It reflects the importance of craftsmanship in areas often not recognized.
